รวบแล้ว! ผู้ก่อการร้ายสัญชาติปากีฯ หลังแหกคุกหลบหนีกบดานพัทยา....

            เมื่อเวลา 19.30 น.วันนี้ (6 ม.ค.58) พ.ต.อ.สุทธิศักดิ์ วันที ผกก.สภ.หนองปรือ พ.ต.ท.คงศักดิ์ บุญสืบสุวรรณ รอง ผกก.สส.สภ.หนองปรือ พ.ต.สุภเศรษฐ มาลีวงษ์ หัวหน้าชุดควบคุมรักษาความสงบ มทบ.14 พร้อมกำลังเจ้าหน้าที่ชุดสืบสวน และกำลังทหาร มทบ.14 ได้เข้าตรวจค้นบ้านเลขที่ 18/1 ซ.มาบยายเลีย 7 ม.5 ต.หนองปรือ อ.บางละมุง จ.ชลบุรี

          หลังสืบทราบว่านาย Gurmeet Singh อายุ 37 ปี ชาวปากีสถาน ผู้ต้องหาคดีวางระเบิดที่เมืองปันยาด ประเทศอินเดีย มีผู้เสียชีวิต 17 คน รวมทั้งนายกเทศมนตรีและผู้ติดตาม เหตุเกิดในปี 2538 และถูกจำคุกในปีเดียวกันก่อนแหกคุกออกมาโดยการขุดอุโมงค์หลบหนีมาในปี 2543 โดยทางประเทศอินเดียได้ส่งหมายจับมายังประเทศไทยในการติดตามตัว จนชุดจับกุมดังกล่าวสืบทราบว่ามาหลบซ่อนที่บ้านหลังดังกล่าวจึงเข้าตรวจค้น

            ในการตรวจค้นพบนายอาลี อาลาต อายุ 48 ปี ชาวปากีสถานเจ้าของบ้าน ซึ่งในตอนแรกไม่ยอมให้เข้าตรวจค้น หลังจากนั้นเจ้าหน้าที่ทหารจึงได้เข้าตรวจค้นพบนาย Gurmeet Singh หลบซ่อนอยู่ในบ้าน พร้อมกระเป๋าเดินทางจึงควบคุมทั้งหมดมาสอบสวนที่ สภ.หนองปรือ

          ในเบื้องต้นนายอาลี อาลาต เจ้าของบ้านให้การเพียงว่า วันที่ 1 ม.ค.57 ที่ผ่านมานาย Gurmeet Singh ได้โทรมาหาแล้วบอกว่าขออาศัยที่บ้านสัก 2-3 วัน เพราะพาสสปอร์ตหมด โดยนาย Gurmeet ให้เงินจำนวน 30,000 บาทเป็นค่าที่พัก

          โดยนายอาลี อาลาต อ้างว่า ไม่รู้เรื่องเกี่ยวกับนาย Gurmeet ในคดีวางระเบิดที่เมืองปันยาด เพียงเห็นว่าเป็นชาติเดียวกันมาขออาศัยเท่านั้น ซึ่งในเบื้องต้นทางนาย Gurmeet ยอมรับสารภาพ เจ้าหน้าที่จึงประสานงานไปยังผู้เกี่ยวข้องเพื่อดำเนินการตามขั้นตอนของกฏหมาย ส่วนนายอาลี อาลาต เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจก็ดำเนินคดีเช่นกันในฐานะใหที่พักพิง

         เจ้าหน้าที่ตำรวจเปิดเผยว่า ในเหตุการณ์แหกห้องขังดังกล่าวมีนักโทษทั้งหมด 9 คน ที่ร่วมขุดอุโมงค์หลบหนี แต่ถูกจับไปแล้ว 8 คน เหลือ นาย Gurmeet Singh เป็นคนสุดท้ายและมาถูกจับได้ในเมืองพัทยา

“Terrorist” from Pakistan arrested by Police & Army in East Pattaya

A Pakistan National who escaped from Prison in India where he was incarcarated in relation to a bombing which killed 18 people, including the Punjab Chief Minister, has been located and arrested at a house in East Pattaya.

The Indian authorities contacted Nongprue Police and advised them that intelligence they had received indicated Mr. Gurmeet Singh aged 37 was living somewhere in the East Pattaya area and was wanted on an International Arrest Warrant, after he is alleged to have escaped from Prison in India in 2000.

On 31st August 1995 the Punjab Chief Minister Beant Singh and 17 others were assassinated by suicide bomber Dilawar Singh outside the Punjab and Haryana Civil Secretariat in India.

The suspect was eventually sentenced to Life imprisonment in absentia for his part in the bombing on October 12th 2010 after an investigation which lasted 15 years.

He was tracked down to a house off Soi Siam Country Club owned by Mr. Ari Arat aged 48, also from Pakistan, who was reportedly paid 30,000 Baht by the suspect to allow him to stay at the house after he claimed the authorities were looking for him due to his expired passport. Mr. Arat claims he was unaware of Mr. Singh’s involvement in the bombing.

Mr. Singh is the last of 9 prison escapees to be arrested, after they escaped from Prison whilst on-remand. The others were re-arrested in India, while Mr. Singh is now in custody in Thailand and is expected to be handed-over to the Indian authorities in due course.
